Depression, panic disorder w/ or w/o agoraphobia. Anxiety disorders including panic attack, obsessive-compulsive disorders & social phobia. For schizophrenia in combination w/ social therapy & antipsychotic drug.
Depression & anxiety disorder 10 mg once daily, increased to at least max of 20 mg once daily after at least wk if necessary. Mild to moderate hepatic impairment or poor metaboliser Initially 5 mg daily, may increase to 10 mg daily after 2 wk.
Avoid abrupt discontinuation. Abnormal bleeding. Hyponatremia. Patients w/ a history of mania. Seizure. Risk of serotonin syndrome w/ triptans, tramadol or other serotonergic agents; NSAIDs, aspirin or other drugs that affect coagulation. Pregnancy (category C). Lactation. Elderly.
